These thoughts have been coming back to me for quite a while.
I am a teacher. And I am someone who is in power.
Many of my colleagues, including myself, do have conversations about how our jobs getting more difficult and how we feel powerless these days. However, I still have to say that teachers are the ones who are in power, especially in the classroom.
We know the taste of power when we give instructions (orders). We know how frustrated it can be if our power fails when students don't follow our instructions.
Here is the point:
No matter how other people may try to supervise how we excercise our power, we can always find a way to counter strick their supervision with style, if we can, without style if we have to.
Therefore, if you are someone with GREAT POWER, don't explore where the boundaries of your power are and wait to see if someone else will finally stop you. People might not have the power to supervise, but they certainly can observe if you use your power reponsibly.
YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN STOP ABUSING YOUR POWER while you still have the ability to excercise you power.
