This Summer, one of my friends had a family trip to Egypt. Before he left, he asked me if I knew some books that can provide some background information about this ancient Country. I went to a bookstore and quickly ran thought several books of this genre. One of these caught special attention of mine and I bought it home myself.
The Title of the book sounds a bit religious because The Chinese title is translated as 上帝的指紋; however, From the English Title we can understand this is not a Christianity view of the ancient Egypt civilization. In the Bible, there is only one God in the universe. Only pagans will accept the idea of many "gods". In fact, while going through the pages, I am quite surprised how Hancock view Egypt. I have to say, he is good. Hancock not only help me understand more about how amazing our ancestors can accomplish but truly reveal a whole new perspective to another possibility of human history in this planet which is totally different from what I have learn in the school. The best, or the worst, of all, it makes sense. And this book puts us right in front of a two-way split and makes us reconsider how we should face our future.
It sounds crazy, right? I agree with you, and will share how it is so. Check back for next edition of “Reading log: The Fingerprints of the Gods”
